The No Mirror Challenge

Following on from my post “Mirror, mirror on the wall …..” myself and Element at elementhealing.wordpress.com have come up with our very own “No Mirror Challenge” ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The idea is to go a whole week without using a mirror, any mirror.ย  We are promoting “beauty on the inside” plus a few broccoli bits in your teeth ๐Ÿ™‚

We are going to post next Tuesday evening how we have found the week, did it make a difference to how we behaved?ย  Are we going to find it enlightening or a nightmare?

I think I`ll find it easy for the next few days.ย  I work alone atย nights so as long as I’m clean it doesn’t really matter whether my hair or make-up is up to scratch.ย  Sleeping in the daytime will also mean it can easily be achieved – the weekend may prove a challenge though ๐Ÿ™‚

I`ve woken up today with a horrible cold so it`s probably notย in my best interest to look in any mirror, I can only imagine my red eyes and streaming nose ๐Ÿ™‚

Feel free to join us and let us know how you get on and remember – we are all beautiful!

  1. As a disabled veteran who helps other vets when I can, I’m in full agreement with your choice to promote the beauty from within. Several of my posts deal with this issue from a veteran’s perspective with scars of war: physically, mentally, and emotionally. I applaud you (and Element) for the choice.
And as for mirrors, I don’t mind small ones, but I hate the full-body kind: since my face is unscarred, but my body looks like a road map. LOL So doing without them is no big deal for me.
And while you’re saying good-morning, I bid you a good-night: as it is 2:00 am in my neck of the woods, and I need my “beauty” rest. Ha-ha

  2. Goodness, I don’t know if I could cover up the two mirrors in my house, as they help to make it seem more light in their dark corners, and how to avoid seeing one’s reflection in store windows and glass doors? But I admire the challenge and look forward to seeing what you learn over the course of the week. Best wishes for an insightful experiment!

    1. Ha! I’m lucky with my job working nights. I often turn up for work in my slippers and tracksuit pants – very skanky ๐Ÿ˜„ but I work alone and my lovely residents sleep all night long – I’m actually only here for medical emergencies which don’t happen too often.

The weekend will be very difficult though – I’m meeting someone I haven’t seen in many years and really want to look nice – but I can do my makeup blindfolded – actually that’s a lie as I wouldn’t be able to put on mascara ……….. but you get my drift ๐Ÿ˜„ xx
